Santa Teresa Academy of Music & Dance offers private music lessons in piano, guitar, voice, violin, drums, and ukulele — plus group dance classes in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and intro to dance.
Students travel from all over the San Jose area to take lessons with our instructors. We offer lessons for all ages and all skill levels. Beginners and advanced students are welcome!
We are the only school in the area that offers both music lessons and dance classes in one convenient location.
All students receive private, one-on-one instruction tailored to their goals and learning style. We offer 30-minute and 60-minute lessons, year-round with no semester breaks.
Piano
Classical to popular music. Sight reading, technique, theory, and your favorite songs. You can start with an electric keyboard at home.
Guitar
Rock, blues, metal, country, and classical on electric or acoustic. Chords, songs, sight reading, theory — and your favorite riffs.
Voice
Rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel, theatre, and R&B. Vocal range, ear training, breath control, vibrato, and tone production.
Violin
Classical, fiddle, or playing by ear. Students as young as 5. Friendly teachers who love working with children, teens, and adults.
Drums
Rock, country, jazz, gospel, or blues. Reading music or playing by ear. Students as young as 5 welcome.
Ukulele
A great first instrument for kids and adults alike. Fun, accessible, and taught with the same personalized approach as all our lessons.

Our teachers have university training or professional performance experience. They have warm personalities and are dedicated to your student's goals.
No semester minimums. All lessons are month-to-month. You can begin anytime. To stop, just give 30 days notice on the 1st of the month.
Music recitals every May and November (optional). Yearly dance recital in June. A chance for family and friends to share in your student's journey.
Our facility was specifically planned for music and dance. Sound-dampened music rooms with viewing windows. Floating hardwood dance floors for ballet, jazz, hip hop, and tap.
From young children to grandparents returning to the piano. Our instructors create a unique program to fit each student's needs and musical preferences.
We are the only music school in the area that gives students the opportunity to earn special color wristband bracelets and trophies as they progress — similar to the karate belt system.
Students are given challenges based on what they are studying. It is a wonderful way to keep students interested and motivated, and a great way to reward and recognize their hard work.
Kids and teens love the wristbands. It gives them something tangible to work toward and show off to their friends and family.
